Planning a bachelorette party should be all about celebrating fun, friendship, and making the bride-to-be feel special—without blowing your budget. The good news? It’s totally possible to throw an unforgettable bash without a hefty price tag.
My favorite way to keep things fun and affordable is to turn your home or apartment into the ultimate “girls’ night in” haven. With a little creativity, you can pull off an incredible event for under $300—which is even easier when the cost is shared among the squad!
Step 1: Pick a Theme!
A strong theme sets the tone and makes planning so much easier. We have a whole list of themes you can choose from. Here are a couple of my favorite ideas for an at-home bachelorette:
Girls Gone Mild
For a cozy and chill night, think of spa vibes, baking cookies, sipping mocktails (or cocktails!), and playing games. Set up DIY face mask stations, bring out a cute pajama dress code, and have everyone contribute their favorite rom-com. This is a perfect mix of relaxation and bonding.
Matching pajamas
Find cute matching pajamas for your crew can add a cozy and picture-perfect touch to your bash
Girls Gone Mild Bachelorette Decor
Set the main table for your Girls Gone Mild bachelorette party theme with stylish blue and white accents, including playful patterned accessories like cute tumblers and makeup bags. ‘
Swag Bags for Girl Gone Mild Bachelorette Party
Creating swag bags might be our favorite part! Instead of using a traditional tote bag, opt for these super fun makeup bags and fill them with your favorite beauty find
Princess Diaries-Inspired Party
Channel your inner Mia Thermopolis with quirky, royal fun! Decorate with cheeky signs like “Me? A Bride? Shut Up!” Serve fancy pear popcorn, plan a karaoke session (a nod to Princess Diaries 2), and if you’re feeling adventurous, set up mattress surfing for hilarious photo ops.
Step 2: Create the Party Hub
Transform your space into a fully immersive party zone that screams your chosen theme. Start with the main focal area, like a dining or coffee table, and load it up with decorations. Think matching tableware, a themed centerpiece, and fun extras like confetti or string lights.
Step 3: Set Up a Photo Station
Because let’s face it—if it’s not on Instagram, did it even happen? Create a cute photo backdrop with balloons, streamers, or a fun banner. Add in props like boas, crowns, or themed signs for easy, on-point pictures that everyone will love.

Step 4: Plan Fun Activities
Make sure to have a lineup of activities to keep the night lively. Here are a few budget-friendly ideas:
- DIY cocktail/mocktail bar
- Trivia games about the bride
- Movie marathon or karaoke session
- Craft stations (think DIY bridal party shirts or mugs)
If you are looking for ideas outside the home we have compiled a list of fun filled ideas. While it may seem impossible, you don’t have to break the bank when throwing a bachelorette party. You can have the dream bachelorette party on a budget.
1. For One Night Only
When you’re rolling on a budget, a bachelorette party that lasts all weekend just isn’t feasible. The amount of money you’ll spend on activities, Airbnb’s, drinks, food, etc., throughout the weekend probably wouldn’t match what your budget would allow. It can also be challenging to line up all of your girls’ schedules for a full weekend. You and your girls could do a small activity at home, have a slumber party, or spend the night out on the town to celebrate before you say, “I do.” Instead of extending your party for an entire weekend, just make your party one big unforgettable night.
2. Beach Day
If you want to throw a bachelorette party on a budget, spending the day on a nearby beach or lake could be the perfect option for you and your squad. You can bring your own food, drinks, and activities. You can’t go wrong with relaxing on the beach, dipping your toes in the water, and catching some rays.
3. Outdoor Yoga Or Fitness Class
Are you and your squad into yoga or fitness? If you are, a fun outdoor yoga or fitness class could be a great bachelorette party idea. You’ll get to spend some time outdoors enjoying the fresh air and exercise with your group. To make your class more tailored to a bachelorette party, you could wear white or a bachelorette sash, and your girls could either wear a bachelorette party shirt or they can color coordinate their outfits.
4. DIY Tasting
You could hold a DIY tasting at your home for a fun bachelorette party on a budget. Each person from your group could bring a bottle of their favorite drink. For snacks, you could make a charcuterie board with foods that could pair well like cheese, chocolate, and bread with oil to dip in.
5. DIY Paint And Sip
Bring the fun of a paint-and-sip party to the comfort of your home. All you need is paint supplies and a bottle of your favorite drink. You can pick out the picture you want your squad to try and paint, and it could be wedding-themed. For instance, you could have everyone paint your wedding dress, a ring, or your bouquet.
6. Cooking Class At Home
To switch up your bachelorette party and do something that’s fun, different, and affordable, we suggest an at-home cooking class. You could hire someone to come to your home and instruct you and your girls to make a delicious dish without having to leave your home. At-home cooking classes typically aren’t expensive, and you’ll learn how to make a special dish that you’ll be able to cook for your future hubby.
7. Board Game Night
If you’re trying to throw a bachelorette party on a budget, we’ve got the perfect idea for you! You could throw a board game night. Your squad could come over to your home and bring their favorite board game for everyone to play. To make it even more fun, they could also bring along their favorite snack.
8. Outdoor Adventure
Are you a fan of hiking? If you and your squad love the outdoors, a hike would be a great bachelorette party activity. You’ll get to enjoy the fresh air, see some killer views, and take incredible photos with your group. To make your hike more bachelorette party friendly, you could wear a white workout outfit, or you could get bachelorette tank tops made for you and your group.
9. DIY Photobooth
When it comes to planning a bachelorette party on a budget, we highly recommend making your own photo booth. Photobooths or hiring a photographer for your party could become costly. However, photos are forever, and you don’t want to forget your bachelorette party. Making your own photobooth is simple, inexpensive, and the photos will look amazing. You could get streamers or make your own to make the photo backdrop. You can also get a balloon arch or a banner to go over the top of your streamers to add that special touch to your photos. Don’t forget to get props to hold for the photo. This could be balloons shaped like a ring, or you could get paper signs to hold up.
10. Book Club Gathering
Are you a bookworm? If reading a book with your gals sounds like your kind of fun, why not make it your bachelorette party? Your bachelorette party should be spent doing things you love to do. You could all read a book, perhaps a romance book or one about someone getting married, and then you could get together to discuss what you thought about it. Your friends could each bring their favorite snack or their favorite drink to the party.
11. Volunteer Together
There’s nothing better than giving back to the community, why not gather your friends together and volunteer for your bachelorette party? You could volunteer at your local soup kitchen, or if you’re an animal lover, you could volunteer at your local animal shelter.
12. Outdoor Movie Night
One bachelorette party on a budget idea that seems to be a big hit is an outdoor movie night. You could purchase an inexpensive projector, hang a white sheet outside, and host an outdoor movie night at your house. Your girls could bring their favorite movie theater snacks and drinks.
13. Thrift Shop Challenge
A thrift shop challenge can be done in a few different ways, so it’s up to you how you want to do it. One way to play is you have to close your eyes and hover your hand over a rack of clothes, and your friends will tell you when to stop. Whatever item of clothing your hand lands on, you have to wear it out. Another thrift shop challenge is you and your girls have to pick out a cheesy wedding dress off the rack and wear it out to go drinking. Whichever way you choose, you and your girls will have an awesome and unforgettable night.
14. DIY Dessert Bar
While having a professionally made cake or cookies for your bachelorette party would be nice, they can be quite expensive. This is where a DIY dessert bar comes in. You could have a theme like a s’mores bar, an ice cream bar, or a chocolate fondue bar. You could also just provide a platter of your favorite desserts, like brownies, pies, or a jar of your favorite candies. You don’t have to get too extravagant with the dessert bar, just have fun with it.
15. Craft Tasting
You could spend your afternoon going to a brewery for a tasting for your bachelorette party. You could try different craft drinks at a reasonable price. If you and your girls are craft drinkers, this is a great bachelorette parties on a budget idea.
16. Pajama Party
Relive the good old days when you would have friends over, wear your favorite pajamas, watch your favorite movies, and play your favorite board or card games. You could invite your friends over, eat your favorite junk food, and make lasting memories with your squad.
17. DIY Pizza Party
Are you a pizza lover? A low-key bachelorette party that’s also easy on your wallet is a DIY pizza party. Your gals could come over, and you could make pizza using your favorite toppings.
18. Outdoor Concert Or Event
During the summer, many places hold free outdoor concerts or events. You could check around online to see if anywhere nearby has an event where you and your girls could enjoy some music outdoors at a reasonable price.
19. DIY Brunch
Brunch offers some of the best foods, which is why it’s become a popular way to spend Sunday morning/afternoon. Having a DIY brunch bar is a simple, low-key, inexpensive, and delicious bachelorette party ideas on a budget. You could set out a coffee bar, quiches, donuts, or a breakfast casserole for your guests.
20. Themed Movie Marathon
As the bride, do you have a favorite genre of movies? Pop the popcorn, it’s time to have a themed movie marathon! If you’re a comedy movie buff, you could have your girls each bring their favorite comedy movies. Another themed movie marathon idea is for your girls to bring their favorite wedding-themed movie.
